“It makes me so happy to be able to spend our very first Chuseok with our fans after debut. I hope everyone takes good care of their health and eats lots of delicious food.” (Seohyeon)
Rookie girl group AtHeart gave a Chuseok greeting as “lovely” as their name. Having debuted in August with Plot Twist, AtHeart is the first girl group under Titan Contents, founded by former SM Entertainment staff. With their first holiday approaching, excitement was written all over the members’ faces when they met with Ilgan Sports.
“Spending our very first holiday with our fans feels so special. I hope that, from now on, we’ll spend not only holidays but all four seasons together with our fans.” (Bome)
“Even though the time has been short, it was an honor to connect closely with our fans. I’m even happier that we get to celebrate this Chuseok together.” (Arin)
AtHeart is a seven-member multinational group made up of Korean members Arin, Bome, Seohyeon, and Nahyun, Japanese member Aurora, Japanese-American member Michi, and Philippine-born Katelyn. Currently, Aurora is taking a temporary break due to health reasons. Just like their diverse nationalities, their ways of spending holidays also vary.
Michi shared, “Korean friends spend the holiday with family, but for us foreign members, our parents are far away, which is a little sad. Still, Chuseok in Korea feels warm like home. From dishes like galbi-jjim and japchae to playing yutnori, everything feels fascinating,” she laughed.
During the interview, the members wore hanbok in different colors such as bright pink and soft lavender, but together they created one harmonious beauty. This echoed their own words: “AtHeart shines brighter because each member has her own individuality.”
The members’ backgrounds are just as diverse. Michi, who has trained in ballet, jazz, tap dance, and musicals since the age of three; Arin, who specializes in street dance and K-pop dance; Bome, who pursued her dream despite parental opposition and moving up from the provinces; Seohyeon, who transitioned from being an aspiring actress to an idol; Katelyn, who fell in love with K-pop through BTS; and Nahyun, who gained recognition even before debut as a model for Starbucks RTD beverages. Together, their unique stories weave the distinctive narrative of AtHeart.
Their music reflects this as well. Their debut album Plot Twist contains five tracks, each with its own unique flavor. The title track Plot Twist, also the name of the album, is a dance track mixing pop and EDM, blending dreamy moods with powerful sounds. It also cleverly incorporates electronic drum sounds often used in 1970s–80s disco. The album also features the Afrobeat-based dance track Push Back, the mid-tempo R&B number Dot Dot Dot..., and the pre-release track Good Girl (AtHeart).
The overseas response came first. Major outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, NME, and Rolling Stone spotlighted AtHeart as “one of the K-pop groups to watch in 2025.” Their debut track Plot Twist proved its popularity by topping the Korean chart of Kugou Music, one of China’s four major music platforms.
Arin commented, “Plot Twist is a song with a new kind of vibe that’s rare in K-pop. With the partnering choreography, it created great synergy, and I think it left a strong impression on international fans.” Katelyn added, “Each track highlights different vocal tones from the members, but people are saying the blend is really good,” expressing confidence.
AtHeart’s role model is Girls’ Generation. Just as the nine-member group once ushered in a whole new era, AtHeart expressed their wish to “become a team that makes the future exciting.” Currently focused on producing new songs, they said, “We’re preparing something that shows a different charm from Plot Twist,” raising expectations.
The future AtHeart envisions is already clear. Each member voiced her dream in unison:
“I want us to win five major awards on global stages and meet even more fans through a world tour.” (Michi)
“I want to hold a concert at Gocheok Dome and sell out every seat.” (Arin)
“I want us to reach No. 1 on the Melon Yearly Chart and leave behind a song that represents that year.” (Bome)
“I definitely want us to win at the Grammy Awards and rank No. 1 on the Billboard main chart.” (Katelyn)
“I hope we can win the Rookie of the Year award at the year-end award shows.” (Nahyun)
“Above all, what I want most is for us to win No. 1 on a music show.” (Seohyeon)
Finally, AtHeart expressed, “The reason we’ve been able to grow so much in such a short time is all thanks to our fans. For Chuseok, we hope you enjoy delicious food along with AtHeart’s songs, and spend a healthy and happy holiday. Happy Chuseok!”
